Consideration of Sponsoring the Los Alamos Nuclear Forum August 25, 2026
Recommended Action
I move that Council support participation in the Los Alamos Nuclear Forum on August 25, 2026 and provide sponsorship funding at the ______________________[insert Premier Leadership, Infrastructure & Development, OR Innovation & Community] level.
Body
On June 2, 2026, Chair Ryti and a few staff members received a request from Scott Lopez with the New Mexico Nuclear Alliance to participate, promote, and be a sponsor for the Los Alamos Nuclear Forum, scheduled for August 25, 2026 at SALA Event Center. See Attachment B for the forum agenda.

Levels of sponsorship are described in Attachment A, and the cost for each level are:
Premier Leadership Sponsor is $7,500;
Infrastructure & Development Sponsorship is $5,000; and
Innovation & Community Sponsorship is $3,500.

Noted partners of the Los Alamos Nuclear Alliance include Nuclear Energy Institute, Energy Communities Alliance, Carlsbad NM Department of Development (a private non-profit economic development agency), New Mexico Chamber, Clean Energy Association of New Mexico, Native Nuclear, New Space Nexus and Kairos Power.
