Title

Incorporated County of Los Alamos Resolution No. 25-04; A Resolution Certifying the 2025 Annual Road Mileage for the New Mexico Department of Transportation

Recommended Action

I move that Council approve the Incorporated County of Los Alamos Resolution No. 25-04, A Resolution Certifying the 2025 Annual Road Mileage for the New Mexico Department of Transportation, and authorize its submission to the New Mexico Department of Transportation.

County Manager’s Recommendation

The County Manager recommends that Council approve the motion as presented.

Body

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) requires counties to annually certify their roadway mileage. This certification supports fund distribution for counties participating in the Local Government Road Fund Cooperative Agreement, County Arterial, and School Bus Route Programs. The certification must be submitted by April 1 each year.

Los Alamos County currently maintains 111.357 miles of roads, an increase of 0.296 miles due to acceptance of new infrastructure in the Mirador development. A copy of Resolution No. 25-04 and the certification letter are attached for reference.

Fiscal and Staff Impact/Planned Item

Submitting the Annual Road Mileage Certification to NMDOT ensures the County's eligibility to participate in the Local Government Road Fund Cooperative Agreement, County Arterial, School Bus Route Programs, and the Municipal Arterial Program.
