Presentation of 2025 National Gold Medal Award Program for Public Class V

Body

Each year, the National Gold Medal Award honors public park and recreation agencies and state park systems throughout the United States and armed forces recreation programs worldwide that demonstrate excellence in long-range planning, resource management and innovative approaches to delivering superb park and recreation services with fiscally sound business practices. This program is considered the premiere award in the field of Parks and Recreation. The National Gold Medal Award Program is governed and administered by the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA) in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).

The Incorporated County of Los Alamos was named one of four finalists in the Public Class V category for communities with population of less than 30,000 and were recognized at the recent 2025 National Recreation and Park Association annual conference. Community Services staff will be in attendance to present the Finalist plaque to Council.  Attachment A shows a picture from the conference awards ceremony.
