Update and Request for Guidance on Metropolitan Redevelopment Area (MRA) - Downtown East Los Alamos
Recommended Action
I move that Council support [insert alternative 1, 2, 3 or other] for the MRA Downtown East Plan.
County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council consider the alternative options presented.
Body
The MRA Downtown East Los Alamos plan has been under development for almost a year. WIth transitions within the Community Development Department staffing and some resident confusion about what an MRA is and could enable that they do not support, the Economic Development Administrator and County Manager would like to take a step back from completing the plan and obtain some guidance from Council.
The presentation (Attachment A) outlines the priorities and concerns resulting from the past year of conversations, and offers some alternative paths forward for consideration. Attachment B is the established boundary of the MRA Downtown East Los Alamos including the areas shaded the color brown - two different shades where the MRA boundary differs from the downtown boundary.
Alternatives
Council could choose to support one of the options presented for consideration or could provide alternative direction.
