Recommended Action
I move that the Board of Public Utilities approve the Award of Bid No. IFB 26-20 for the Purpose of the Quemazon & East Gate Lift Station Rehabilitation Project with Allied 360 Construction LLC, in the Amount of $562,878.00 and a contingency in the amount of $56,287.00, for a total of $619,165.00, plus Applicable Gross Receipts Tax and forward to Council for approval.

Body
Rehabilitation of the Quemazon and East Gate lift stations are scheduled capital improvement projects in fiscal years 2025 and 2026. The projects have been combined into a single bid given the similar nature of the work. Both lift stations have been in service for over 25 years and are equipped with the original controls, pumps and hardware. The lift stations will be upgraded with new pumps, controls, electric services and miscellaneous hardware, all of which are at the end of their service life. Three bids were received for the work and Allied 360 Construction LLC was the lowest responsive bidder. Allied 360 has completed multiple lift station rehabilitations in recent years for DPU and performed very well.
Alternatives
If the bid is not awarded staff will plan to bid the project again given the deteriorating condition of the lift station equipment.
Fiscal and Staff Impact/Planned Item
$250,000 has been budgeted for the Quemazon lift station, $200,000 has been budgeted for the East Gate lift station. $150,000 will be applied to the project from available funds associated with the Denver Steels Phase II project and an additional $62,893 will be applied to the project from the North Community/Western Area miscellaneous repairs budgeted in FY 2026.
