Title

Presentation and Discussion on Potential Ordinance that Prohibits Feeding of Wild Animals

Body

Councilor Randall Ryti requested that this item be brought to Council to discuss the problem of community members feeding deer and other wildlife .  This item is for discussion only but will include information from New Mexico Department of Game and Fish's District Officer, Ariel Perraglio.  Ms. Perraglio indicated that a couple towns/cities around the state have passed ordinances making it illegal to feed wildlife.  The Village of Ruidoso is one such town.  Their ordinance that prohibits feeding of certain wildlife is shown in Attachment A.  Staff from Los Alamos Police Department will, also, be available to discuss enforcement of such an ordinance.
