Board/Commission Appointments - Community Development Advisory Board
Recommended Action
I nominate David Hanson and Anna Solomon to fill two vacant positions on the Community Development Advisory Board and move that Council appoint Mr. Hanson and Ms. Solomon to the Community Development Advisory Board for terms that begin August 15, 2019 and end on August 14, 2023.
County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council approve the recommended action as requested.
Body
The purpose of this item is to fill two vacancies on the Community Development Advisory Board.
The Board began the recruitment process and advertised over the last year. Mr. Hanson was interviewed on November 3 and Ms. Solomon was interviewed on September 14, and both candidates were found to be well qualified and the interview panel is recommending them for appointment (Attachment D). Mr.Hanson's and Ms. Solomon's application packets are shown in Attachments B & C.
This seven-member board has three-year terms and is currently composed as shown on Attachment A. Party affiliations are noted as [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DST] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote.

Robert Day - Republican
Mr.Hanson is a Democrat and Ms. Solomon is a Democrat appointing them will not violate the County Charter restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards and Commissions.
