Title

Update by County Consultant, Dekker/Perich/Sabatini on draft Chapter 18 Article I General and Article II Nuisances Code Update

Body

Chapter 18 of the County's Municipal Code is the County's Environment code, defining the minimum conditions and the responsibilities of persons for exterior maintenance of structures, including all existing residential and nonresidential structures properties. This overall intent of this update is to increase the clarity of Chapter 18 and eliminate often confusing, redundant and contradictory aspects of the current code regarding property maintenance standards and code enforcement process as outlined within the first two articles of Chapter 18 of the Los Alamos County Code of Ordinances; Article I General and Article II Nuisances.

The presentation is intended to inform the Council of the current status of the code update, present conclusions determined through extensive public input and Community Development Advisory Board review process, and to seek guidance from Council on specific Chapter 18 subjects.
