Recommended Action
I move that Council approve Agreement No. AGR24-33 with Christopher Hammond D.O. Inc., for Medical Director Oversight Services, in the amount not to exceed $758,217.00 plus applicable gross receipts tax.
County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council approve the contract with Christopher Hammond D.O. Inc., for Medical Director Oversight Services as requested.
Body
On February 24, 2024, the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) and the Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) Consolidated Dispatch Center (CDC) issued RFP#24-33 for Medical Director Services. As a result of the RFP Process, the LAFD and LAPD CDC have selected Christopher Hammond D.O. Inc. as the preferred vendor for these services. Attachment A has the service agreement that is being considered. State regulations mandate that agencies providing Emergency Medical Services (EMS) operate under the direction of a licensed medical director who provides oversight, develops treatment protocols and ensures the quality of pre-hospital care. Medical director services play a critical role in regulatory adherence, protocol development, training, and quality assurance.
Fiscal and Staff Impact/Planned Item
Fiscal impact is $758,217.00 over seven years. Funds will be budgeted in LAFD EMS Budget.
