Approval of Task Order No. 6, to AGR24-04c with DUB-L-EE, LLC for the Purpose of Western Area Backyard Sewer Improvements
Recommended Action
I move that the Board of Public Utilities approve Task Order No. 6, to AGR24-04c with DUB-L-EE, LLC for the Purpose of Western Area Backyard Sewer Improvements in the Amount of $158,486.66 and a contingency in the amount of $20,000.00, for a total of $178,486.66, plus Applicable Gross Receipts Tax.

The Utilities Manager recommends that the Board approve as presented.
Body
There are two areas in the Western Area which have experienced repeated sewer back-ups in recent years which are beyond maintenance efforts to correct. The first area to be worked on is a segment of sewer main that goes beneath two existing homes. The line will be relocated out from under the homes and the service lines will be transferred to the new line. The second area to be worked on will reroute two service lines to adjacent sewer mains. These services are configured and routed in an awkward manner and LAC is responsible for the maintenance of a deteriorating section of inaccessible sewer main in backyards. The work will be performed in March 2025.
Alternatives
If the Task Order is not approved staff will continue to do their best to maintain these lines until they can be replaced.
Fiscal and Staff Impact/Planned Item
The work will be funded by wastewater operation funds designated for sewer line maintenance.
