The vacancy was advertised for three months in the LA Daily Post, a notice was posted outside the Municipal Building in the Public Notice Board, and flyers were placed at County facilities. The County received two applications from well-qualified applicants. One of the applicants has since accepted a position on a different board. Mr. Dryja meets the requirements of the Certified Local Government designation by the State of New Mexico Historic Preservation Division for the composition of the board, to include: The Historic Preservation Advisory Board shall be composed of five citizens competent and informed in the historic, architectural and cultural traditions of the community.

This five-member board is currently composed as follows:
Patrick Moore (I)
Nancy Bartlit (I)
Jonathan Creel (D)
Michelle Murillo (D)
Mr. Dryja (I) was interviewed on November 5, 2020. The recommendation of the interview committee is attached.
The interview committee consisted of Patrick Moore, Board Chair; Pete Sheehey, Council Liaison; and Barbara Lai, Staff Liaison.
The interview committee recommends Robert Dryja.
The appointment of the applicant will not violate the County Charter restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards.
