The ESB will review and discuss the December 2020 Residential Sustainability Report. The data now includes more data and graphs that will demonstrate overall diversion as a result of the new yard trimming program which began on July 9, 2018.
Most recent additions to the report include greenhouse gas emissions reduced by recycling and composting. There is also a significant increase in yard trimmings as the collection schedule was adjusted to recover the brush material in December.
The yard trimming has been voluntarily embraced by the community, with support from 69% or 4,738 households. Currently, each household is limited to one cart per household to ensure each household has the ability to participate in the yard trimming program. In FY21, approximately 579 tons of yard trimmings were collected.
We received the shipment of yard trimming roll carts and will be assembling and delivering those carts.
