Title
Incorporated County of Los Alamos Code Ordinance 02-312: An Ordinance Amending Chapter 2, Article V, Section 2-421, of the Code of the Incorporated County of Los Alamos Regarding the Procedure for Special Recognition
Recommended Action
I introduce, without prejudice, Incorporated County of Los Alamos Code Ordinance No. 02-312 and ask the staff to assure that it is published as provided in the County Charter.
County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council introduce this Code Ordinance.
Body
Staff was requested to draft an ordinance that would clear up any ambiguity that certain structures can only be named after a deceased person. This ordinance, if passed, would allow for only deceased persons to be considered for special recognition of a county-owned project or facility.
Alternatives
Council could amend the time required in the proposed ordinance to a period that seems more satisfactory or reject the ordinance and leave the Code as it currently stands.
Fiscal and Staff Impact/Unplanned Item
Passage of this ordinance should not impact the budget or staff time used for facility naming considerations.
