Board/Commission Appointment - Environmental Sustainability Board
Recommended Action
I move that Council appoint Wendy Staples to fill one (1) current vacancy, on the Environmental Sustainability Board, which is a partial ESB term that began on August 1, 2020 and will end July 31, 2022.
Body
The Environmental Sustainability Board is a seven member board with staggered two-year terms beginning August 1 and ending July 31. A copy of the current Board Member list is attached for reference (Attachment A). The vacancy is a result of the resignation by one ESB member (Alesia Benson).
The applicants are:

Applicants were interviewed by an interview committee August 18, 2021. The interview committee consisted of the following:
ESB Chair: Erik Loechell
Council Liaison: Sean Williams
ESB Staff Liaison: Angelica Gurule
The interview committee recommends appointing Wendy Staples to the ESB.
Party affiliations are noted as [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DTS] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote.
Appointing the applicant will not violate the County Charter restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards and Commissions.
