Recommended Motion
I move that Council approve Acceptance of FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Grant in the amount of $1,207,700 and authorize the County Manager to execute the agreement, and approve Award of Bid No. 21-60 in the amount of $880,200 plus Applicable Gross Receipts Tax to Maxwell Asphalt, Inc. for the Airport Pavement Preservation Project; and Establish a Project Budget in the Amount of $1,207,700; and Approve Related Budget Revision 2022-14 for services as summarized in the attachments and the attachments be made part of the minutes of the meeting.
County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council approve the motion as presented.
Body
On May 4, 2021, Council approved an Application and Acceptance of a Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Grant for Federal Fiscal Year 2021 in the Amount of $900,000. On August 4, 2021, the County received notice that the amount of the grant had been increased to $1,207,700 making the Airport Preservation Project 100% federally funded.
On May 16, 2021, the County advertised a formal competitive solicitation for project construction through Invitation to Bid No. 21-60, two responses were received on June 8, 2021, and the evaluation committee is recommending award to Maxwell Asphalt, Inc., the lowest responsive bidder.
The Project includes Rehabilitation of Runway 9-27, Taxiways, & Apron (Crack Seal, Seal Coat, & Remarking) at the Los Alamos County Airport.
Upon Council approval, the Notice of Award will be sent to the contractor on September 1, 2021, and work will begin on or before October 1, 2021. The co...
