I move that the Los Alamos County Transportation Board recommend to the County Council that matching funds be budgeted in FY23 to secure a Federal Aviation Administration grant to design and construct the Taxiway Foxtrot Safety improvement Project at the Los Alamos County Airport.

Discussion and possible vote regarding the Los Alamos County Transportation Board recommendation to the County Council that matching funds be budgeted in FY23 to secure a Federal Aviation Administration grant to design and construct the Taxiway Foxtrot Safety improvement Project at the Los Alamos County Airport as outlined in the report presented to the Transportation Board on November 4, 2021, by Airport Manager Geoff Rodgers. We are advised the county's match would enable the airport to take further steps toward financial self-sufficiency in terms of ongoing operations. More importantly, the improvements will better accommodate various safety roles including medical emergencies and wildland firefighting as well as better serving any needs of Los Alamos National Laboratory. Upon completion, the project would also facilitate future development of commercial operations.
