Board/Commission Appointment(s) - Parks and Recreation Board.
Recommended Action
I nominate Greg Weiss, Chris Olsen, David Hampton, and Jody Schwartz to fill three (3) vacancies on the Parks and Recreation Board and move that Council appoint three (3) to the vacant positions as follows:
By roll call vote, Councilors vote for three (3) nominees and the three (3) with the highest vote total of four (4) or more be appointed to fill terms beginning on December 1, 2021 and ending on November 30, 2023.

The purpose of this item is to fill three (3) vacancies on the Parks & Recreation Board (PRB).
These vacancies represent three expired terms for members: Christopher Olsen [R], David Hampton [R] and Greg Weiss [R] which ended on November 30, 2021. All are eligible for reappointment.

The interview panel consisted of the following: PRB Chair, Ramiro Pereyra; Staff Liaison, Dianne Marquez and Council Liaison, Sean Williams. Interviews were conducted in November 17, 2021. The interview panel recommends re-appointing Christopher Olsen, David Hampton, and new applicant Jody Schwartz to the Board. The recommendation of the interview panel is included as Attachment B.
Party affiliations are noted as [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DTS] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote.
This seven (7) member board has two (2)-year staggered terms beginning either December 1, 2020 or December 1, 2021 and ending either November 30, 2022 or November 30, 2023. It is currently composed as follows, all with terms ending November 30, 2022:

Appointing any three of the applicants will not violate the County Charter restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards and Commissions.
