Title

Approval of Budget Revision 2022-45, moving budget authority of the Broadband Design Services for the amount of $500,000 from the Information Management Division within the Administrative Services Department to the Broadband Division within the County Manager's Office

Recommended Action

I move that Council approve Budget Revision 2022-45 as summarized on Attachment A and that the attachment be made a part of the minutes of this meeting.

County Manager's Recommendation

The County Manager recommends that Council approve the Budget Revision as requested.

Body

The purpose of this Budget Revision is to move the $500,000 budget authority for design services to update the 2013 community broadband study concepts for infrastructure and service delivery options from the Administrative Services Department (ASD) to the County Manager's Office (CMO). A new Broadband Division for was established within the CMO department. The $500,000 was originally Budget Option # 12c as part of the FY2022 Adopted Budget and was recorded under ASD.

Alternatives

Council could choose not to approve the attached Budget Revision. The impact would be that the expenditures for this effort would be charged to ASD's budget by CMO staff creating process inefficiencies and increasing the potential for inadvertent errors occurring.

Fiscal and Staff Impact/Planned Item

Fiscal impact on the related funds (General Fund) is zero. There is no staff impact.
