Approval of Budget Revision 2022-61 for Emergency Funding Related to Cerro Pelado Fire Impact
Recommended Action
I move that Council approve Budget Revision 2022-61 as summarized on Attachment A and that the attachment be made a part of the minutes of this meeting.
County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council approve the budget revision as requested.
Body
The purposed of this revision is to transfer funds in the amount of $250,000 from the General Fund to the Emergency Declarations Fund and establish budget authority for staff overtime, supplies and equipment needed for the Cerro Pelado Fire. These costs may be eligible for a percentage of reimbursement by either FEMA or NMDSHEM. Typically emergency costs are reimbursed at a 75% rate and the County ultimately matches the costs at 25%. A summary of the budget revision is included on Attachment A.
Alternatives
Council could choose not to approve some or all of the attached revision. The impact would be that the related projects or programs may not occur or existing operations may be negatively impacted.
