Title

Approval of Agreement AGR23-40 with GM Emulsion, LLC., in the amount of $292,600.00 plus applicable Gross Receipts Tax for the Transport of Recycled Glass

Recommended Motion

I move that Council approve Services Agreement No. AGR23-40 with GM Emulsion, LLC., in the amount of $292,600.00 plus applicable Gross Receipts Tax for the Transport of Recycled Glass.

Manager's Recommendation

The County Manager recommends that Council approve the motion as presented.

Body

On September 29, 2022, the County advertised for the transport of Recycled Glass through Request for Proposals No. 23-40. Two (2) responses were received from GM Emulsion and DTT Welding & Excavating, INC. The evaluation committee is recommending award to the response provided by GM Emulsion.

Transport of Recycled Glass Services ensure timely collection and transportation of glass items from Los Alamos County Eco Station to G2GD Recycling Center located at 11331 Dillon Road, Broomfield, Colorado. The vendor is committed to transporting the glass to a designated disposal facility in a safe, timely and effective manner. This glass recycle program is well used by the community, where approximately 300 tons of glass is recycled annually.

If approved, the agreement will begin January 25, 2023 and will continue through January 24, 2030.

Alternatives

Council could choose to not approve this agreement. In that case, staff would need to re-solicit for these services or discontinue the recycled glass services program.

Fiscal and Staff Impact/Planned Item

Transportation services for recycled glass is a recurring budgetary expense that is accounted for in each budget year, this will not cause any further budgetary impacts.
