Report from Recent Trip of Federal Legislative Committee Members

On February 14 - 15, 2023, Chair Denise Derkacs, Councilor Randall Ryti, Deputy County Manager Anne Laurent, and Intergovernmental Affair Manager Danielle Duran visited with four congressional offices, three congressional committees, and three federal agencies to pursue the Los Alamos County Federal Priorities for 2023. The congressional offices included Representative Theresa Leger Fernandez, Representative Gabe Vasquez, Senator Ben Ray Lujan, and Senator Martin Heinrich. The congressional committees included the Senate Armed Services Committee, the Senate Appropriations Committee, and the House Appropriations Committee. The federal agencies included the Federal Highway Administration, the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Safety Administration, and the Department of Energy, Environmental Management.
Chair Derkacs will provide a report on these meetings.
