Approval of Purchase Dell VxRail Hyperconverged Server Infrastructure for Purpose of Replacing the Current End-of-Life MUNIS Server System and Associated Licensing.
Recommended Action
I move that Council approve the purchase from Vantage Point Corp of Dell VxRail Hyperconverged Server Infrastructure in an amount not to exceed $299,296 plus Applicable Gross Receipts Tax, for purpose of replacing the current end-of-life Munis server system and associated licensing.

Body
The purpose of this procurement is to create an infrastructure that meets current, and future, requirements for upgrades to the Tyler Munis ERP system. This procurement is being done through a recognized pricing agreement, however competing quotes were obtained and this vendor also offered the best price.
Tyler Technology offers MUNIS major software upgrades through it “Evergreen Philosophy”. The County agreement with Tyler specifically states that the County shall not be more than two major versions behind current for support purposes. The intent of the server upgrade is to provide a path forward to upgrade MUNIS to version 2018 or 2019 depending on the formal release date.
Los Alamos County purchased the Current SimpliVity Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI), for the ERP upgrade project, on June 30, 2016 with a three-year warranty. Within six months of the purchase Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) purchased SimpliVity and issued an end-of-sale/end-of-support deadline that coincided with the product end of warranty date rendering the County unable to update or grow capacity on the current system. The change in status of the current infrastructure requires that a new system be stood up to allow current and future MUNIS upgrades to proceed.
